OUR FOUNDER
EMMA ROLLASON-TAYLOR
Emma has a background in organising high quality special events, which lead her to decide to put these skills to use and organise this charitable event to raise money on behalf of Kyra.
With a keen interest in English Literature and Theatre, it was decided to combine these passions to create a walk with a difference that could inspire and educate, whilst creating a community feeling to allow people to open up and talk about their experiences. Having volunteered for many charities over the years and worked on women's projects designed to help women break glass ceilings and create more inclusive work spaces, the fight to make the world a more equitable place and educate on gender biases is something that is a passion.
"I WANTED TO DO SOMETHING THAT WOULD OPEN UP OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE, TO CREATE A SAFE SPACE WHERE THEY COULD TALK OPENLY ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES"
MUSE
Inspiration can be found anywhere, we want to showcase amazing people to have experienced domestic abuse and made it through to a better future. Our platform will share their voices to inspire others to do the same!
REFORMER
We hope to create meaningful conversation by educating the community and changing the existing perception around what domestic abuse is. By challenging stigma around what abuse is, we aim to boost awareness about the harm caused by coercive control, manipulation, and gaslighting.
PROVOCATEUR
We have designed the walk to be fully interactive and immersive, enabling a safe space to talk, listen and open minds. The walk aims to inspire, encourage and provoke active thoughts that can challenge the shame brought from abuse, and raise awareness at a systemic level.
HEALER
Our community is a safe space for conversation, support and trust. We hope to create a positive environment for victims where they can feel safe, be vulnerable, and heal. We signpost to vital resources, and use our platform to encourage mental health and wellbeing.
HERO
We want to empower victims of domestic abuse by supporting them to talk openly, provide resources and to rebuild their confidence, and champion stigma so that they can regain control of their futures. We aim to educate around early signs of domestic abuse so that individuals can be their own heroes!
